TEAM CHAINÉ
PERFORMANCE / SPORT PATOINE
Located in Plessisville, Chainé Performance is specialized in high performance
mechanics. Thanks to the expertise and the passion for the sport of its owner,
Yanick Chainé, the growing up company earned a reputation of excellence
in the race world, while supporting several ATV, Mini-Sprint and motorcycle
racers.
2008 will be an exceptional year for the company and its owner: Mr. Chainé will
finally carry out one of his life-long dreams by creating the Chainé Performance
Roadracing Team, in collaboration with Gilbert Labrecque, the owner of Sport
Patoine located in Scott, Beauce.
The pilots Yvan Carrier and Yanik Goudreault will participate in the Amateurs
Classes at the Parts Canada National Championship and R.A.C.E., Genevieve Lesieur
will take part in both same championships, adding the Women's Cup Challenge
and the pilot Steve Bourdeau will also attend the National Parts Canada at
the professional level. These 4 racers will each have the chance to race on
a superb Suzuki GSXR-600 prepped and maintained by Chainé Performance.
“
I am very excited to be part of this Team, it’s going to be different
since I’m accustomed to ride alone! Chainé Performance is supporting
me for 4 years now and I’m proud to be part of the company’s evolution.
Even though I’ll be competing with members of the team, I know that I’ll
be able to capitalize on each other’s strengths to move further, just
as I can also bring them a lot…” told Lesieur who finished, in
2007, 3rd overall in the WCC and 12th at the National Mixed.
“
For me, the adrenaline we feel on the racetrack has no equal, except maybe
the satisfaction of a victory!” stated Goudreault who, like his teammates,
is very motivated by this project and confident to get exceptional performances
in 2008.
We wish the best of luck to those 4 racers!

2008 MOTORCYCLE
SHOWS
Once again, there were crowds at the 2008 Québec and Montréal
Motorcycle Shows. Present at the Suzuki Canada booth, Genevieve Lesieur was
delighted to be part of these events: "During racing events, unfortunately,
we don't have much time to talk to people. The Shows then become great opportunities
to communicate our passion and it's always a very positive experience." The
experience was all the more rewarding since she could give television interviews,
promote her sponsors and sign many autographs.
Genevieve also took advantage of the opportunity to reveal her new race number: "I've
worn number 118 for 5 years, which served me well, but now you'll have to watch
the 18! Also, I'd like to thank the Suzuki team, as always, we had a lot of
fun working together. Thanks to Chainé Performance for the superb GSXR600
that was shown at the booth, thanks to the members of QuébecMotos.com
and M4E for their visit, to people and friends who came to encourage me, and,
above all, thanks to all my sponsors!"

TURN2
AND GENEVIÈVE LESIEUR
Turn2/ARC advance Riding School announced last week that they add 3 female
instructors to their staff, including Genevieve Lesieur.
Whether it is for an introduction to track or for more advance riding techniques,
it will be an opportunity to share her knowledge with people who are just like
her, motorcycle and track enthusiasts. The schools will occur at Mosport, Shannonville
and Calabogie Ontario.
« It's obviously with great enthusiasm that I accepted, after attending
several schools myself in order to polish my technique and also with the experience
gained in the lasts years, if I can provide someone more confidence or get some
riders addicted to the track, it will be mission accomplished. Not neglecting
that in addition of the increment of track time during the summer, the whole
school ride on Suzuki.
Turn2 is one of the first schools in Canada to hire women instructors, and
I am convince that it will be just the little push to bring some female riders
at the track who otherwise would have been intimidated. I am very grateful
for this opportunity. »
For those who would be interested to attend a Turn2 School, visit the website: www.turn2.ca and schedule.

Pre-season
on track training
Genevieve Lesieur is back from Willow Spring, California, where she could prepare
her season on the track as part of the California Superbike School:
" I try to do at least one annual racing school. Each has its own way of
teaching and its personal approach about the track, it always gives excellent
tips that can be applied in races. I was very pleased to complete my 2nd and
3rd levels with this school, in addition to having the chance to ride a bit before
the season."
Because of the distance and short time, Genevieve could'nt get there with her
bike. So she used the one provided by the school.
" Though it's best to practice with is own motorcycle, riding other machines
allows to learn different things. Anyway, I'll be able to apply these techniques
to my Suzuki GSX, which I'm still more eager to ride!"
The season is expected to start soon in Ontario, if mother Nature allows it...

Shannonville,
Ontario, Fabi Track 18-19-20 avril
Geneviève Lesieur is back from Shannonville where she competed
in the first rounds of the R.A.C.E. regional championship. The weekend
was marked
by temperature record of 27 degrees, contributing to make the races physically
very hard
at this season beginning.
In the Women's class, despite a bad start, Lesieur managed to fight until the
very end causing a finish so tight that the winner had to be determined using
transponders evidence, which unfortunately put her 2nd with a difference of
only 7 thousands of a second:
"I was obviously disappointed, but looking at it from now, I am very proud
of my racing on the track, I never gave up! I think the pilot Marie-Josée
Boucher did not suspect that I was so close… I have therefore taken her
by surprise in the last corner resulting ourselves to be side by side at the
start / finish line."
For mixed, in the Amateur 600 and Superbike classes, Genevieve has been
very successful by collecting an 8th place in 600 and a 6th in the Superbike:
"It was my first career race on the FABI track and even if I aimed a top
5, my lap times were exceptionals. To get more track time, I registered in
the Superbike class (1000cc and below) in which I would measure up to more
powerful
bikes, it was a good experience and my 6th place is very promising!"
It was also the first weekend of the season for the entire Chainé Performance
/ Sport Patoine team:
"I loved to race with my team members; there were a lot of respect both
on and off the track. In addition to everyone very good week-end performances,
we had
much fun to work together!" Lesieur said.

Some difficulties
for Lesieur
Shannonville (Ontario), Nelson Track, May 4, 2008 - Genevieve Lesieur Report
The 2nd round of the R.A.C.E series took place in Shannonville last week-end.
During qualifications, Genevieve had problems due to a suspension defect which
relegated her to the last rows in Amateur 600 and Superbike. The women qualifying
round was performed in the rain, therefore slowing the entire group and allowing
her to take the 2nd spot.
Still a disappointing day for the pilot and her team who worked very hard to
solve this major problem, with no satisfying results. So at the Amateur 600
first race, starting from the 19th spot, Genevieve had to settle for the 12th
place:
"
Unfortunately, repairs that we had made failed and I could not keep the pace.
It's frustrating when you know that you can be faster! My teammate Yvan Carrier
then offered me to use the original parts of his "B Bike" so that
I could perform better in the following two races. A big thank’s!"
The whole team worked hard for the bike to be ready for the Women's race, where
Genevieve finished with a 2nd place podium:
"
It took me at least two laps to get used to the bike. I was 4th when a red
flag stopped the race. As the bike appeared to respond well, I was very confident
for the second start. So much so that I won a 2nd place, once again really
close to the first." 14th at the Superbike, Genevieve moved up to the
7th spot. She was very satisfied with these results, considering that the
weekend had started badly. She thanks Chainé Performance and the whole
team, Yvan Carrier and MotoGP Canada, for their precious help.

Calabogie, May 2, 2008
First experience and first
round for the National Parts Canada Championship at Calabogie, Ontario.
Geneviève Lesieur finish the race with a 10th positition in the
Amateur 600 class: "Calabogie is a beautiful track, but also very
technical, on which we have to be patient. The race has produced lot's
of red flags, which was very sad to witness..." Even with all theses
incidents she got a satisfying race.
At the 2nd round of the WCC, which took place on the same track, Lesieur won
her first pole position of the season but had to content herself with a 3rd
place finish: "It was supposed to be an 8 laps race but it was shortened
to 6 after the start, it was therefore impossible for the pilots to know this
information. I was preparing my passing strategy to reach the 2nd place and
I must confess that I have been surprised to see the checkered flag so soon!" Told
the pilot who said having however, made an exciting race while having improved
her lap times.
Geneviève would like to thanks Chainé Performance and the entire
team, Marie LN, Kathou, Mathieu, her family and all those who came by to show
their support.
:::::::::
Shannonville, Long track, May 18, 2008
Geneviève Lesieur finished 4th in Amateur 600
class (mixed) on may 18 at the 3rd round of RACE Championship.
The first round of WCC Championship, whom happened under wet conditions, was
also held at that same weekend. Geneviève was 2nd when a red flag forced
a new start in the race, and unfortunately the pilot crashed: "I was just
a little too close from a curb and I crashed... I tried to get back in the
race, but the bike was broken."
Lesieur was supposed to be back on track for the
Superbike class (mixed), but she got delayed by the time it took to brought
her back in the pits: "There was a race before mine and I knew that the
bike could be repaired, but I have not been picked up fast enough..." The
pilot, who was 5th overall in that championship, said that she is more than
confident to comeback very strong.
:::::::::
Suzuki School
For a second year, Geneviève Lesieur had the opportunity to teach at
Suzuki riding School at the St-Eustache Roadrace Circuit. She took the opportunity
to communicate her knowledge to enthusiasts motorcycle and to test the GSXR-600
and the GSXR-750 2008:
"
I started the day with the 750, I would have preferred to try it on a track
like Mont-Tremblant, but I had a good idea of the guts she had to offer.
I was expecting a compromise between the 600 and 1000, but it was, to my
opinion, much more comparable to the 1000cc. Power, comfort, impressive
handling considering I'm a petite and I was also surprised by the braking
abilities.
I then continued the day on the 600 where I was even more in my range. Perfect
for my weight, I was very comfortable from the very first turn, braking abilities
less drastic than the 750 but same comfort, handling and responsiveness increased."
Geneviève wishes to congratulate her students who have greatly improved
throughout the day. She also would like to thank's the whole Suzuki team present
and Suzuki Canada for this opportunity.
:::::::::
Calgary Race City, June 26-29
Geneviève went to Calgary to compete in the 2nd round of the Parts Canada National championship. On an oppressively hot day (it was almost 35 degrees), she obtained her best results on the track: "I don't have a lot of practice on this track, which is very physically demanding because of its configuration and its numerous bumps, not to mention the heat that added to the challenge!"
Lesieur started from the 9th place obtained in qualifications: "I fought the whole race, to ultimately finish in 8th place. Still I'm satisfied since I obtained my best result in 600 Amateur mixed at the national level, and also managed to beat my lap time of the year by 2.5 seconds. The bike was perfect, and I want to thank my team and Chainé Performance for their support across the country!"
:::::::::
Shannonville, June
20-22
Great weekend for Geneviève
Lesieur, who qualified in 3rd position in the Amateur 600
RACE regional championship. She completed the race in 6th place: "For
the first time, I started on the first row in 600 Amateur
mixed. Even if I lost 3 positions during the race, I am happy with
my performance. It was a new experience which I'll certainly
benefit from!".
She finished 12th in the Amateur Superbike class, and won a 3rd place podium
in the RACE Women's Open: "The leader had the advantage of a big bike,
so I fought for the 2nd place. But once in lappers, circumstances didn't work
in my favor, and I had to settle for the 3rd place."
:::::::::
A victory and a 3rd
place podium for Lesieur at the 3rd
and 4th rounds of the Women's Cup Challenge, Mosport (Ont.)
With dominant lap times, Geneviève won the 3rd
round of the Women's Cup Challenge in Mosport: "I had a really good start
which placed me first from the beginning of the race. I kept my position, increasing
the gap between my opponents with each lap and finishing the race with a comfortable
advance. Winning at Mosport is an incredible feeling!" says Lesieur
who also performed well at the 4th round, getting a 3rd place podium.
---------------------------
National Amateur 600 mixed
At the 3rd round of the National Parts Canada, qualifications could not be
held because of the rain. Earlier lap times were then used for the starting
grid, and Geneviève was 8th.
The riders had to race on a dry-wet track: "I don't have a lot of practice
in these conditions. If my small build may be an advantage on a dry track,
it's the opposite under the rain! Being very light, we got some problems making
adjustments to the bike to get enough traction. I was therefore not at ease."
Though the outcome was less interesting for her in this class, Geneviève
remains very positive about the whole experience because it allowed her to
show that she could be part of the front racers on this impressive track: "I
nevertheless reached my goals, and already have a plan of action for next year
on this track, which is still my favorite! I'll do everything possible to improve
my riding in conditions such as these", she told us to conclude.
:::::::::
Shannonville (Ontario)
followed by Shubenacadie (Nova-Scotia)
At Shannonville on July 27, Geneviève
Lesieur took part in the 5th round of the RACE Championship
in Ontario. In the Amateur 600 class (mixed), from a 14th place
start she finished in 7th, which hoists her in 5th position
in the overall standings until now in this category. She also
got a 2nd place podium behind the professionnal pilot Marie-Josee
Boucher in the Women's Open Expert.
She then head out to Shubenacadie (NS) to compete in 2 races of
the National Parts Canada Championship (mixed). Lesieur which goes to that track
once a year has managed to achieve very fast lap time of 1.12.680 to reach the
9th rank in qualifications: "I was very happy of my lap times, "Shubie" is
a very physical track and performance were particularly impressive this year!
We also had serious rivals with the local racers who joined us and which are
advantage on their own track. But it was still a great improvement for me where
I have beaten my personal record from 2 seconds, I was counting on a good start
to go up a few positions."
The concerns about the weather for the Saturday race, have been prove to be right
since the racers had to take the start on a wet track: "A few minutes before
starting the race, rain began to fall! Thank's to my team for have been so effective
in to changing tires on my bike right in time to take the start and thank's to
John Sharard for a last minute suspension set-up. Lesieur finished the race in
10st place, her best result in these conditions: "I was very satisfied,
the race has given me a lot of confidence and I will benefit from this learning
in the future", she added.
Sunday, this time under the sun, the race began, again on the 9th spot, Lesieur
was picking up the spots when from the 2nd lap the bike began to react badly.
After several crashes caused by other racers a red flag was given: "I had
definitely a problem with the bike, the rear suspension seemed to abandoned me
and the bike was very difficult to control during acceleration and curves. Loosing
my focus because of this problem, I started on the 2nd gear on the second start!
Shoo! Unable to get a good position at the start and accelerate as I wanted during
the race, I had to settle for 11th place at the finish. "Genevieve said
she was desapointed with this result on perfect track conditions that would have
certainly targeting a top 5.
:::::::::
Shannonville (Ontario),
August 31, last round of the Parts Canada National Championship
At Shannonville, Geneviève Lesieur
took part in the last round of the Parts Canada National Championship.
In the Amateur 600 (mixed) class, in which no fewer than 47
riders were attending, Lesieur obtained her best result in
qualifications in this championship with a 6th place on the
starting grid.
The sunday race attracted an impressive number of spectators. With an impressive
grid and in an overwhelming heat, Lesieur got an excellent start but had to settle
for an 8th place at the finish line: "As usual I have set myself in a good
position right from the start, but as the race was progressing, my rear tire
slipped, to a point that I almost highsided a few times, even if I was very easy
on the throttle. I could not maintain the desired pace. "Even if Lesieur
said she was disappointed, she remain very satisfied with her overall performance.
A very demanding weekend for the rider who also took part in the 4th round of
the Women's Cup Challenge Championship. With a 3rd place in qualifications, she
was pushing hard on the pro pilot Marie-Josee Boucher right from the start: "The
bike went very well and we remedied the problem with the shift of tires... I
was about to pass my opponent when the crash of another pilot caused a red flag...
What a disappointment! Waiting in the hotpits, the team of Marie-Josee has obviously
taken the opportunity to tell her my strategy... "
A new start has been given, but the race was shortened to 4 laps: "I unfortunately
missed a gear shift at the beginning of the race, allowing Boucher to distance
me even if I had a better start. She was a little slower than me and therefore
used a very interior line, making passing very difficult, especially because
I had only 3 laps to take advantage over her... I end at .162 thousandth of a
second behind her. There is always a chance and circumstances in races, it will
eventually turn in my favour! "said Lesieur who specified to had much fun
in this race exciting.
Geneviève therefore concluded the Parts Canada National Championship season
season at 8th place in the overall standings on 54 qualified racers. Congratulations
to her and his team who worked hard for the entire season!
The season is not over yet as of 2 races Women's championship and 2 rounds of
the Regional joint (RACE, Shannonville) are to be held at the end of September.
Her results allowed her to get in the 2nd spot in the overall standings in the
Womens class, despite a crash that cost her important points during the first
round.
:::::::::
An exceptional season
The pilot Genevieve Lesieur concluded wonderfully
her 2008 season at Shannonville at the end of September. The changing
weather has made the situation more difficult during qualifications
either for her as for her team.
She started at the 12th place in the Amateur 600 and she finished the race
in 6th place to come up to 4th place in the overall standings of the Amateur
600 (mixed) in the Shannonville R.A.C.E Championship.
In the women class, the still changing weather conditions was causing her difficulties
with her choice of tires, she started in the 2nd spot with rain tires on a
dry track: "It started raining 15 minutes before the race but once on
the grid, the track had dried out! Even if I did not make the right choice,
I was very confident. I could not run faster than I would normally do, but
I was able to take advantage of my experiences on other tracks in similar situations. "Lesieur
said she was satisfied with her 2nd place under theses circumstances.
She obtained another 2nd place during the second round of the last 2008 week-end
of the Women's Cup Challenge Championship. Lesieur ends up Vice-champion in
the overall standings of the Expert championship behind the pro pilot Marie-Josee
Boucher: "I am extremely happy with my 2008 season; I improved a lot on
all tracks and look already forward to start the 2009 season! My GSXR 600 Chainé Performance
has been outstanding throughout the year and I had a lot of fun to race!"
The season is not over for the pilot who will soon travel to Daytona to participate
in the prestigious endurance race SunTrust Moto-St. This 8hrs race is very
physically demanding gathers many U.S. and Canadians pilots. Lesieur will be
part of a women's team and will shares a SV1000 Vallely Racing with Marie-Josée
Boucher (Can.) and Melissa Paris (USA): "Participating in this race was
one of my dreams, I am very enthusiastic and confident that I will benefit
from this experience!"
Geneviève wishes to thank Chainé Performance, Sports Patoine,
Laval Moto Suzuki Canada, Motovan and all its sponsors for their constant support
during this exceptional 2008 season and the special support of Sport Patoine
and Hardgym Performance for the SunTrust Moto-St race at Daytona. For more

Daytona, Sun Trust
Moto-St: Genevieve Lesieur is back
On October 18, in Daytona, the Sun Trust
Moto-St hosted for the first time in its history a women’s
team. Racer Genevieve Lesieur had the chance to participate in
this prestigious 8-hours long endurance race, along with Marie-Josée
Boucher (Canada) and Melissa Paris (USA). The three young women —invited
by Vallely Racing— began their on-track training on Thursday: “I’ve
already been on this track two years ago, but the configuration
was different, so I have been able to familiarize myself with the
track and the bike”, Lesieur says.
On Friday afternoon, the whole Vallely team went on official rehearsal: “It
was the first time we were participating in that kind of race. We had so many
regulations to assimilate, and we had to do some pit stop practices, test the
communication systems, the lights on the bike, and to be sure that each team
member could also perform the task he was assigned for the race. It was a real
foretaste of what we were expecting for the next day!”
Very enthusiastic and determined, the three pilots started the race on Saturday
at 1 PM. On the SV1000 Vallely Racing, Melissa Paris started 13th on the grid
and put the entire team in an excellent position before being relayed by Marie-Josee
Boucher. Unfortunately, Boucher had to come back to the pits because of a mechanical
malfunction. Lesieur then replaced her, once the bike fixed, but the mechanical
problem was soon back again, forcing the three pilots and the entire team to
spend several hours in pitlane trying to fix it: “The engineers worked
so hard to help us, but it did not work… What a disappointment after
so much efforts! This race has nonetheless been a dream for me, I’m so
grateful to everyone, it was exceptional!”
In the pits, the enthusiasm of the people for the “Vallely Girls” was
at its peak. They occupied the 4th place when the mechanical problem started.
They finished 25th out of 35 teams, with 131 laps completed: “Better
luck next time. We've gained experience and we will be even better prepared!
I would like to point out how much we have been well-treated in this competition,
as much by the organization as by the other teams. It was an extraordinary
and positive experience. I met incredible people and we had great energy in
the pits!”, concluded Geneviève.
The pilot wishes to thank Tom and Gail Vallely for their exceptional support
and energy, Sport Patoine, Hardgym Performance for its assistance for this
event, Mark Rozema, Alain Larouche, William, Melissa Paris, Josh Hayes, Dave,
Jason, Matt, Ryan, Jim and all Vallely Racing team and the Boucher family.
She also thanks all the fans who came to support her.
